Jogger Fatally Struck by Vehicle at Bruce and California Park
Chico, CA (October 5, 2022) – Judith Girimonte, a 76-year-old woman, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Bruce Road and California Park Drive.
The KRCR News reported Girimonte, of Chico, was jogging in the streets of Chico Wednesday morning. When the woman approached the intersection at Bruce and California Park, a passing vehicle struck her. The horrible crash took place shortly before 8 a.m.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Chico
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the jogger suffering in serious injuries. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the woman; but she sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away at the scene. The Chico Police Department later identified the deceased as Judith Girimonte.
The article published online mentioned the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process. Detectives handling the case continue to work to determine exactly how and why the deadly accident happened at Bruce Road and California Park Drive.
