Julia Aquino, 48, Bakersfield Crash at Edison Road and Muller Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 7, 2022) – Julia Aquino was killed after a car crash at Edison Road and Muller Road in Bakersfield.
The coroner’s office identified the 48-year-old Bakersfield woman as the victim in the fatal wreck which took place on Tuesday.
The incident happened when Julia Aquino was riding as passenger in a Ford Escape going west on Muller Road in Bakersfield. At the same time, a heavy-duty tow truck was traveling at about 55 mph south on Edison Road.
Car and Tow Truck Collide
The Ford stopped at a stop sign and then entered the intersection with Edison directly into the path of the truck. In the process, the tow truck slammed into the right passenger side of the SUV.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred on January 4 at around 1 p.m. Julia Aquino died at the scene of the crash.
The Kern Golden Empire and Bakersfield Now wrote that the driver of the Ford sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed the patient to the Kern Medical for treatment.
The operator of the tow truck, 26-year-old Jamie Gallegos, ended up unharmed. The cause of the Bakersfield crash still under investigation.
