Woman Killed at Pomona Intersection Crash Identified
POMONA, CA (April 17, 2022) – Julia Schmidt, 24, of Chino, is one of two women who died in a car crash Sunday morning on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway.
The deadly crash happened about 2:05 a.m. on April 17th, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
The Chino woman was traveling as a passenger in a 2013 Toyota Camry that was rear-ended by a 2019 Honda Civic. The driver of the Honda also died in the crash, but she has not been identified. Both Julia Schmidt and the second woman died on scene.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old man driving the Toyota suffered minor injuries in the traffic accident. Paramedics transported him by ambulance to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center.
Police are investigating what led up to the crash. They do not suspect alcohol is a factor in the collision.
The CHP’s Baldwin Park area office urged anyone with information regarding the crash to call them at 626-338-1164.
