Julian Munoz, 24, Killed in Lake Elsinore Crash at Summerhill Drive and Corte Seriui
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (January 31, 2022) – Julian Munoz was killed after a DUI crash at Summerhill Drive and Corte Seriui in Lake Elsinore.
The coroner’s office identified the 24-year-old Murrieta man as the victim of the fatal wreck last week on Friday night.
The incident began when Julian Munoz was riding as a passenger in a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed south on Summerhill Drive in Lake Elsinore.
The car then spun out of control and slammed into a cement light pole near Corte Seriui. The vehicle rolled over and came to a rest on its roof in a drainage ditch on the right side of Summerhill.
Speeding Car Hits Pole, Overturns
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and extricated Julian Munoz who sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. He died at the scene.
The accident took place January 28 at around 10:33 p.m. Meanwhile, officers determined that the speeding driver was under the influence of alcohol when they crashed.
Deputies soon arrested him for felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. The Lake Elsinore DUI crash is still under investigation.
