Julian Vitoria, 24, Suspect in Pedestrian Accident in front of Chenoweth Elementary School Thursday
Merced, CA (October 8, 2021) – Police arrested 24-year old Julian Vitoria in relation with a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Parsons Avenue Thursday.
The Merced Sun-Star News reported Julian Vitoria was behind the wheel of a vehicle traveling in the streets of Merced on October 7.
According to the article published online, the driver allegedly intentionally struck two pedestrians in the 3200 block of Parsons Avenue. The crash happened in front of Chenoweth Elementary School in Merced. Officials briefly identified the injured pedestrians as man and woman in their 80s.
Ambulances rushed the victims to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. An air ambulance transferred the mail patient to an area hospital in Modesto for further treatment. Authorities continue to withhold the names of the victims pending confirmation.
Meanwhile, the article published online mentioned the driver fled the scene after the crash. Investigators determined the identity of the hit-and-run suspect as Julian Vitoria. Police then arrested the man for attempted homicide. The suspect was for attempted homicide.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
