Julie Johnson Killed, Jayme Johnson Injured in Santee Hit-and-Run on Molino Road
SANTEE (August 31, 2018) – A pedestrian died and another was hospitalized after being struck by an alleged hit-and-run driver on Molino Road Wednesday night, according to FOX 5 and CBS San Diego.
The deceased victim has been identified as 46-year-old Julie Johnson, while the injured has been named as 30-year-old Jayme Johnson.
As per the reports, deputies said the two women were struck by a vehicle on Molina Road near El Nopal.
Prior to the collision, the car involved, a late-model Honda sedan, was occupied by three teens who were found arguing with a resident in neighborhood. The teens then hopped into their car and sped away.
In the process, the Honda jumped a curb and hit the two pedestrians.

Officers said Julie Johnson was admitted to an intensive-care unit but later died. Her daughter-in-law, Jayme Johnson, was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries and was then released Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the teens did not stop to render aid and fled. Authorities were able to locate the vehicle and arrested one 16-year-old boy. He was booked into Juvenile Hall on felony hit-and-run charges.
A second 16-year-old was also detained on suspicion of hit-and-run. The third party, a light skinned black male approximately 18 years old, 6’1″, 140 lbs., is still outstanding.
