Julio Davila-Fuentes, 25, Killed in Richmond Rollover Crash on 80 Freeway
RICHMOND (June 14, 2019) – A passenger was killed and another was critically injured after an alleged DUI crash along the Interstate 80 Freeway last week Saturday.
The victim, 25-year-old Richmond resident Julio Davila-Fuentes, died after the accident which occurred on June 8 at around 5:12 p.m.
California Highway Patrol said the incident began when a gray Nissan Sentra was seen allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed east on the freeway and weaving in and out of traffic.
The Nissan then sideswiped a white Mercedes SUV, just west of the Central Avenue exit. The Sentra spun out of control and ultimately rolled over.

According to an article written by East Bay Times, Davila-Fuentes and another passenger were ejected from the speeding car as a result of the collision.
The other occupant thrown from the Nissan was flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with life-threatening injuries. The two people riding the SUV were unharmed in the wreck.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the Sentra was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the incident took place. That motorist was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
The names of the wounded party and the suspect were not disclosed. The investigation is ongoing.
