Julio Infante Suspect in Hit-and-Run Crash Indio Monroe Street

Julio Infante, 47, ID’d as Suspect in Indio Hit-and-Run Crash

INDIO, CA (July 19, 2021) –  Authorities identified Julio Infante as the hit-and-run suspect in a crash on Monroe Street in Indio.

Police said the 47-year-old Indio man critically injured two pedestrians last week on Friday morning. The Desert Sun and KESQ News wrote that the accident occurred at about 11:50 a.m.

The incident happened on July 16 when two pedestrians were outside their vehicle and were changing a flat tire on Monroe Street in Indio.

Indio police said Julio Infante struck the two people in the roadway for an unknown reason. His gray Dodge Ram pickup truck hit them north of Avenue 51.

Pedestrians Hit by Car

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found both victims left wounded as a result of the crash. They sustained life-threatening injuries upon impact.

Medical personnel rushed them to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs and listed them in critical condition. Officials did not release their names.

Meanwhile, the driver abandoned his damaged car and fled on foot. Police identified Julio Infante as the registered owner of the pickup and the person of interest in the hit-and-run.

The Indio hit-and-run crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 760-391-4051.
