2 Killed in Pedestrian Accident at Buena Vista and Broadway Are Identified
LEMON GROVE, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2025) — Junior Joseph Saint-Juste and Nadia Charles were both killed New Year’s Day in a Lemon Grove pedestrian accident.
The cousins, who were both around 20 years old, were hit by a vehicle while crossing at Buena Vista and Broadway in Lemon Grove, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Two cars collided at the Lemon Grove intersection and one of them struck the pedestrians as they were walking across the street. The collision was caught on surveillance cameras in the area.
Both young people died following the crash. Also, the two drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital.
There’s a memorial service scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 8th at the crash scene and the family has a gofundme to raise money for their funeral services.
The Haitian Refugee Community Center in San Diego is also helping the family. The cousins immigrated to the United States last year from Haiti.
Investigators are working on the case and early indications are that speed was a factor in the collision.
