JURUPA VALLEY, California (November 2, 2015) — Four people suffered moderate to critical injuries Monday morning when a driver crashed into a light standard in the 3200 block of Rubidoux Boulevard, a CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department report said.
Maria Guerrera-Tremor, 66, of Riverside later died of her injuries at 11:16 a.m. that night, according to a report by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The 9:12 a.m. crash involved four elderly adults who became trapped in the vehicle and required CAL FIRE Riverside County firefighter’s help to rescue them. Paramedics transported one person to Inland Valley Medical Center who was suffering from major injuries. Two others were taken by ground ambulance to Parkview Community hospital. A fourth person also suffered major injuries and was last to be extricated at the scene. They were also hospitalized at one of the local medical centers.
Police are heading up an investigation into what led to the solo crash and will issue a report with their findings.
