JURUPA VALLEY CAR ACCIDENT: One Dead, 2 Injured in Major Crash on Mission Boulevard
JURUPA VALLEY, California (April 4, 2014) — One person is dead and two men were injured following crash between a black pickup truck and a large green dump truck Thursday morning on Mission Boulevard at the intersection with Riverview Drive, according to a press release by the CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters.
About 7:24 a.m., CHP officers and CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters were on the scene of the collision involving multiple patients including a pair of Good Samaritans who came to the aid of the driver in the pickup whose vehicle was wedged underneath the back of the larger truck. Three men, who were acting as Good Samaritans, ran to assist the trapped driver. However, a third vehicle struck and injured the two of these pedestrians.
One person died at the scene of the crash located in front of the Rubidoux Child Development Center, a library and elementary school. Two pedestrians were suffered major injuries and minor injuries, Riverside Fire said.
Paramedics transported the two injured people by ground ambulance to local hospitals. One of the Good Samaritans, Marco “Junior” Esquivel suffered major injuries in the collision when the impact of a third vehicle struck, according to the Press Enterprise.
“This is a tragedy for the family and friends of the person killed and I commend those men who attempted to assist the driver and put their own lives at risk,” said Attorney James Johnson, founder of Johnson Attorneys Group in Riverside County.
There was a total of nine firefighters and two engine companies at the scene of the crash of the Jurupa Valley car accident.
