Deadly Crash on I-15 Freeway in Jurupa Valley
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (Nov. 17, 2021) — A fatal Jurupa Valley crash on the Interstate 15 Freeway Wednesday morning took place near Philadelphia Avenue.
The deadly crash happened on the northbound side of the freeway about 9:06 a.m. on Nov. 17th, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The driver of a white Chevrolet Tahoe SUV reportedly crashed into a gray BMW sedan due to unknown circumstances. One witness told 911 operators that when the SUV hit the gray BMW that it kept pushing into it before the SUV went off the roadway and overturned. The vehicle wound up crashing through a chain link fence and went about 75 feet down an embankment before it overturned.
The driver was trapped inside the SUV unresponsive and bleeding, the CHP report said. Paramedics and firefighters responded to the scene, but sadly one person died in the white SUV. The Riverside County Sheriff Coroner responded extricate the person from the Tahoe.
A driver in a Chevrolet pickup truck witnessed the crash and his vehicle got a dent in the hood from a brick that flew up from the collision.
Investigators seek to determine liability for the deadly Jurupa Valley crash.
