Man Killed in Hit-and-run Crash on Mission Boulevard
JURUPA VALLEY, California (June 27, 2014) — Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who left a pedestrian to die Thursday night after hitting them at the intersection of Mission Boulevard at Crestmore Road, according to a press release by the Riverside County Fire Department.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded about 10:51 a.m. to the collision within minutes of the crash and transported the pedestrian by ambulance to a local area hospital, but the man died as a result of major injuries sustained in the accident.
Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the hit-and-run driver whose vehicle is described as a dark-colored Toyota pick-up truck with dark tinted windows and black rims, according to a report by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
Police closed down both sides of Mission Blvd. between Crestmore Rd. and Redwood Dr. for roughly eight hours for an investigation by the Jurupa Valley Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Team.
