JURUPA VALLEY, California (March 18, 2016) — A juvenile was killed Thursday night following a crash involving two motorists at the intersection of Dodd Street and 58th Street, a report by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
The crash was reported about 6:12 p.m. when a driver heading northbound on Dodd Street failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into an eastbound vehicle on 58th Street. The Jurupa Valley Police Department responded along with paramedics to the scene of the crash where they found the young person suffering from life-threatening injuries. The juvenile was rushed to Riverside Community Hospital and later Loma Linda Hospital where they later died despite efforts made by medical staff.
Others were also injured in the crash, but the report does not indicate the extent or number of people injured.
Police closed down the intersection for roughly eight hours to conduct an investigation into the crash and will determine liability.
