Semi Truck Hits Motorcyclist in Hit-and-run Crash
JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. (June 8, 2022) — A Jurupa Valley motorcycle accident involving a semi-truck happened Wednesday on the westbound Pomona 60 Freeway, just east of the Interstate 15 Freeway.
The hit-and-run collision occurred about 1:39 p.m. on June 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a white Express Trucking semi-truck allegedly cut off a motorcycle rider, causing the bike to crash in the slow lane. Several motorists stopped to help the injured rider. Also, CAL Fire Riverside responded with an ambulance.
Meanwhile, one witness took off after the suspect in the semi-truck and called 911 to report it.
The witness followed the truck driver and advised police the suspect exited the freeway. The driver was heading down on Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road and then Wineville Road. Eventually the semi-truck driver stopped and the witness approached the driver and told him he struck a motorcyclist on the freeway. The driver denied hitting the bike.
It’s unknown if police managed to catch up with the truck driver at this time.
Investigators continue to work on the case.
