JURUPA VALLEY: Girl, 18, Killed, 4 Critically Injured in Crash on Limonite Avenue
JURUPA VALLEY, California (June 2, 2014) –Passenger Stephanie Gonzalez, 18, of Jurupa died and four others were critically injured Sunday afternoon when a red Ford F150 pickup truck crashed into a tree on Limonite Avenue, just east of Camino Real, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and CAL FIRE/Riverside Fire Department.
About 12:42 p.m., Jurupa Valley Police Department officers and California Department of Fire paramedics responded to the solo-vehicle crash with a tree in the center median that divides east-and-west-bound lanes of Limonite Avenue. Four people were transported to hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries sustained in the crash.
The Jurupa Valley Traffic Team is heading up the investigation into the crash to determine what charges, if any, will be filed against the driver. Alcohol is not suspected in the crash, according to preliminary results of the investigation.
“This is a tragedy for all involved in this crash,” said Riverside Attorney James Johnson. “My prayers go out to them as they and their families cope with the aftermath and try to piece together what happened.”
