UPDATE: Frances Marie Armendariz, 55, of Riverside Dies of Injuries Sustained in Crash
JURUPA VALLEY, California (February 6, 2015) – Two people were injured Thursday afternoon – one with major injuries—following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Sierra Avenue and Armstrong Road , according to a press release by the Riverside County Fire Department.
About 1:35 p.m., police and firefighters responded to the crash and had to cut open a vehicle and rescue one person who was trapped in the wreckage. The individual suffered major injuries and was taken to Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Fontana for treatment, but she died of her injuries shortly thereafter at 2:12 p.m. A second person suffered minor injuries, but was also transported to the same hospital.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is heading up an investigation into the crash to determine liability.
