Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Jurupa Valley Hit-and-Run at Market Street and Via Cerro
JURUPA VALLEY, CA (July 29, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash at Market Street and Via Cerro in Jurupa Valley.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the incident at about 12:37 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Jurupa Valley. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Market Street and Via Cerro.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived at the scene near the Santa Ana River. They found the victim left lying on the ground with shallow breathing as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of a major head injury. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Officers forced the intersection of Market Street and Via Cerro to shut down following the collision.
The Jurupa Valley hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
