MOTORCYCLIST INJURED AFTER DRIVER MAKES LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF BIKE
JURUPA VALLEY, California (July 1, 2014) – A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday afternoon when a driver made a left-hand turn in front of the bike on San Sevaine Way at Wacker Drive, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The motorcyclist was driving westbound on San Sevaine Way when the sedan traveling eastbound attempted to make a left turn in front of the rider to 10621 San Sevaine Way. The two vehicles collided.
It was 3:04 p.m. on June 30, Jurupa Valley Police officers were called to respond to a motorcycle accident after it collided with a 4-door sedan. CAL FIRE/Riverside Fire Department also rushed to the scene of the crash to assist the injured motorcycle rider and transport him by ambulance to a local hospital. The motorcyclist underwent surgery at the hospital. The driver of the car was released after police interviewed the person.
The Jurupa Valley Traffic Team is heading up the investigation and spent roughly five hours at the scene in an attempt to determine the cause of the crash and assign liability.
