The SUV then drove up and got to the top of the ramp. At the same time, a semi-truck was about to exit. The big rig swerved left in an attempt to avoid the Cadillac, but clipped the care and ultimately slammed into the center divider.
CHP affirmed that the tractor-trailer came to a stop sideways across most of the freeway, spilling about 30 gallons of fuel onto the road.
Paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the motorist in the SUV and the operator of the truck who both suffered minor injuries as a result of the wreck. Their names and condition were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, most eastbound lanes were forced to shut down for more than three hours following the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
