Justin Huston, 29, Badly Injured in Car Accident on Bear Creek
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY (January 9, 2019) – A passenger was badly injured after an alleged DUI crash on Bear Creek Road Monday night, according to SF Gate and KION News.
The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Justin Huston, of Paradise.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling Bear Creek Road when its operator lost control of the vehicle.
The Camaro then plunged down an embankment and slammed into a tree and a utility pole cable.
Suspected DUI Driver Tyler Sweeney, 25, Arrested
The accident occurred at around 10:55 p.m., just east of Bear Mountain Road.
CHP affirmed that Huston and the driver of the car, 25-year-old Tyler Sweeney, were transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, officials believed that Sweeney was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs when the wreck took place.
The Santa Cruz man was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury. The incident is still under investigation.
