According to an article written by the Paso Robles Daily News, the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Justin Lahr.
California Highway Patrol said Lahr was driving a Jeep eastbound on Linne Road when he collided with a Mercedes Benz. The accident occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m., just east of Hudson Road.
The Mercedes was headed west when its driver, 18-year-old Paso Robles resident Cassandra Walton, became allegedly distracted and allowed her vehicle to drift over the broken yellow lines.

As Walton was driving west in the eastbound lane, Lahr took evasive action and turned his car to the left into the westbound lane. However, Walton moved back to the right in an attempt to return to her lane.
Lahr stepped on his brakes but failed to slow in the process. The two vehicles ultimately collided head-on. The Jeep became disabled while the Mercedes continued onto the dirt shoulder, struck a wire fence and overturned.
CHP affirmed that Lahr was extricated from the wreckage using the Jaws of Life. He suffered major injuries, including a broken left leg and lacerations to his head and chin.
Meanwhile, Walton sustained abrasions. Both drivers were taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment. The incident is still under investigation.
