Deadly Crash on Imperial Highway Near Southwest College
WEST LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2022) — Justin Matthews, 34, died in a motorcycle crash at West Imperial Highway and Denker Avenue on Thursday night in front of the entrance to Los Angeles Southwest College.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred in the Westmont area about 8:26 p.m. on Sept. 16th, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The motorcycle rider went down after a collision with a gray Nissan Versa near a bus stop. The rider also hit a light pole during the crash.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to help those involved, but sadly pronounced Justin Matthews dead at the scene about 5:40 p.m., the report said.
Meanwhile, several others including passengers and drivers from other vehicles were transported to Gardena for treatment of minor injuries.
Tow trucks removed the Nissan and the motorcycle from the crash scene.
