Juvenal Banderas Struck, Killed By Vehicles on Pacific Avenue in Long Beach

Pedestrian Killed in Long Beach Identified
LONG BEACH, CA (Sept. 21, 2026) – Juvenal Banderas, 65, was the pedestrian who was struck by three vehicles in a fatal Long Beach crash on Sept. 13th on Pacific Avenue, just north of Pacific Coast Highway.
The 65-year-old man, described in a GoFundMe fundraiser as a father, grandfather, husband, and friend, died at a hospital after being hit by the vehicles around 7:25 p.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department. The victim was walking eastbound across Pacific Avenue and was not in a marked crosswalk when he was struck first by a white SUV, then a dark-colored sedan, and finally a 2021 Jaguar. The driver of the Jaguar stopped as required under California law. The other two motorists fled the scene.
Police responded and provided life-saving measures on the injured man until paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived and he was transported to a hospital. Sadly, the pedestrian did not survive and died at the hospital, police said.
There have been no arrests made at this time. Witnesses are asked to contact the LBPD Collision Investigation Detail at 562-570-7132 to speak with Detective Johnson.
