Boy, 13, Fatal Victim in Traffic Collision at Coffee and Hageman Road
Bakersfield, CA (July 5, 2021) – On January 10, 2021, Johnathan Deal suffered injuries and his stepson died following a motorcycle accident in the area of Coffee and Hageman Road.
The ABC23 News reported Johnathan Deal was operating a motorcycle with a passenger, a 13-year-old boy. Preliminary investigation revealed an SUV attempted to make a left turn at the northwest Bakersfield intersection. In the process, the SUV collided with the motorcycle driven by Johnathan Deal.
When emergency teams arrived at the location, they found the juvenile lying on the ground. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the minor but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

Meanwhile, Johnathan Deal reportedly sustained serious injuries from the collision. An ambulance rushed the man to Kern Medical for treatment.
The female driver of the SUV appeared unharmed after the incident. According to the article published online, authorities arrested the woman on July 2 in connection to the catastrophic incident. The suspect was was charged with felony vehicle manslaughter with gross negligence and a traffic violation. Recent information showed the woman posted bail and is currently out of jail.
