Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident Identified
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2022) – Karina Hernandez Melchor, 35, of Los Angeles, suffered fatal injuries in a pedestrian accident on San Pedro Street in South Los Angeles.
The traffic accident occurred about 10:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26th, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
According to a report by KFI News, a 20-year-old man in a southbound vehicle struck the victim as she was crossing the street in a crosswalk. The motorist stopped and someone called 911 for help.
Additionally, the Los Angeles Fire Department sent paramedics to the 10600 block of South San Pedro Street, the report said.
Sadly, the pedestrian suffered major injuries and died at the scene. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified Karina Hernandez Melchor on its website.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department is heading up the investigation.
