Karisa Serrato, Juan Cruz Killed in Crash Victoria Avenue and Wooley Road
OXNARD, Calif. (September 4, 2018) – Juan Cruz and Karisa Serrato were both killed and an Oxnard man was critically injured Monday night after a collision between two vehicles at at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Wooley Road, according to a report by the Oxnard Police Department.
The fatal crash was reported about 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 3rd.
Cruz, 19, of Oxnard, was driving a Pontiac Firebird with two passengers. Serrato, 20, of Port Hueneme, and a 19-year-old Oxnard man. They were traveling southbound on Victoria Avenue when their vehicle collided with a southbound Lexus GS 430 driven by a 34-year-old man.
The Pontiac veered off the roadway and crashed into a palm tree.
Paramedics pronounced Cruz dead at the scene, but Serrato who was ejected in the crash, was taken to Ventura County Medical Center where she later died of her injuries. The second passenger in the Pontiac was critically injured and also taken to a hospital.
There were no immediate injuries reported in the Lexus.
The Oxnard Police Department is heading up an investigation into the tragedy.

A full investigation into what caused this collision is underway. Police are piecing together evidence and will interview any witnesses to determine fault.
