2 Dead After Single-Vehicle Collision Near High School Avenue Monday
Concord, CA (November 2, 2021) – Katherine Hermoza, and another person suffered fatal injuries following a car crash that occurred on Port Chicago Highway on November 1, Monday.
The East Bay Times News reported a 37-year-old man was was driving a vehicle heading north on the highway in Concord. When the car approached the area near High School Avenue, the driver apparently lost control and ran off the roadway.
Our sources indicated the vehicle slammed into a light pole. The unfortunate event took place at about 1:45 a.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found the driver and a female passenger with serious injuries. The article published online confirmed both parties sadly died as a result of the collision.
The Contra Costa County coroner’s office identified the passenger killed in the crash as 51-year-old Katherine Hermoza, of Concord.
Authorities shut down the northbound side of Port Chicago Highway; between High School Avenue and North Sixth Street, to give way to the investigation process.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
