Woman Struck, Killed on Highway 29 in Napa County
NAPA COUNTY, Calif. (August 4, 2020) — Katherine Elizabeth MacMahon, 28, of Napa, has been identified as the pedestrian who died while trying to cross Highway 29 last week in Napa County.
The collision was reported at 5:15 a.m. on Friday, July 31st on Highway 29 at Wine Country Avenue in north Napa, according to the Napa County Coroner’s office who identified the victim.
MacMahon was crossing the highway when at least two vehicles struck her in the pre-dawn hours, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.
Multiple vehicles struck the pedestrian and never stopped, but two motorists who were involved and one witness stopped and contacted authorities. .
Police investigating the collision do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors with the motorists.
The northbound lanes were closed down for five hours as police conducted their investigation.
