Katia Mojarro and Rodolfo Avila Mojarro Injured in Multi-Vehicle Car Accident
DATE OF COLLISION: Tuesday, September 18th
September 19, 2018- According to the Fresno Bee, a deadly 4-vehicle collision left one person fatally injured and a number of others hurt on Highway 180 also known as Whitesbridge Avenue.
According to reports, the accident took place at roughly 9:50 p.m. near Napa Avenue.
California Highway Patrol officials report that a 23-year-old Kerman man had been behind the wheel of a 97′ Honda when for unknown reasons he veered from eastbound lanes into westbound lanes colliding head-on with a 06′ Toyota driven by Rodolfo Avila Mojarro, 45, of Mendota, accompanied by passenger Katia Mojarro, 20.

The Honda was then struck by an oncoming 03′ GMC driven by Jose Garcilazo-Campos, 64, of Mendota, forcing the Honda back into eastbound lanes where it was again struck a short while later by a big rig hauling grapes driven by Joel Villalobos-Lemus, 41. Villalobos-Lemus was unable to avoid the collision as the Honda’s lights were off.
The aftermath of the crash left Katia Mojarro with major injuries. She was transported immediately to Community Regional Medical Center.
Meanwhile, both Rodolfo Avila Mojarro and Jose Garcilazo-Campos were also hurt. No details were provided in regards to where they were transported.
According to the Fresno Bee, the 23-year-old Kerman man in the Honda who has not been ID’d by name sadly did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No injuries were suffered by Villalobos-Lemus.
At this time, CHP officials are still investigating the collision and have not disclosed whether or not drugs or alcohol played a contributing factor.
