Katlyn Braley, 31, Killed in San Jacinto Bicycle Crash San Jacinto on State Street

SAN JACINTO, CA (December 8, 2021) – Bicycle rider Katlyn Braley was killed after a crash on State Street in San Jacinto.

The coroner’s office identified the 31-year-old San Jacinto woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place early Wednesday.

The incident began when Katlyn Braley was riding her bicycle north on State Street in San Jacinto. At the same time, a gray 2013 Kia Optima was going north.

The California Highway Patrol said the car then struck rear of the bike. The two collided on the two-lane road, just north of Record Road.

Bicyclist Hit by Car

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the cyclist down on the ground. Katlyn Braley died at the scene of the San Jacinto crash.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the 58-year-old Redlands man driving the Kia did not immediately realize he hit the rider and continued north.

He turned around shortly, returned to the site and called for help. Officers added that the area where the incident happened was dark and did not have street lights.

My News LA wrote that the accident occurred at about 12:05 a.m. The San Jacinto bicycle collision is still under investigation.
