Woman Arrested on DUI, Hit-and-run Charges

 Katya Gladys Garcia-Ayala Arrested Fatal Fullerton Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident FULLERTON, Calif. (July 8, 2021) —  Katya Garcia-Ayala, 24, of Tustin, was arrested on DUI and hit-and-run charges early Thursday following a fatal Fullerton pedestrian accident.

Police arrested the Tustin woman about 45 minutes after the 3:32 a.m. pedestrian accident on Orangethorpe Avenue near Harbor Boulevard.

She reportedly fled after hitting Alfredo Aguinaldo, 57, in the eastbound lanes of Orangethorpe Avenue, according to the Fullerton Police Department.

Sadly, police located an unresponsive male in the roadway with significant injuries.

Soon after, paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said.

Katya Garcia-Ayala Arrested After Fatal Pedestrian Crash

By 4:12 a.m., Fullerton police found the suspect’s a white Ford sedan with major collision damage not far from the crime scene.

Meanwhile, police arrested the alleged hit-and-run driver identified by police as Katya Garcia-Ayala. Investigators also suspect the driver was DUI. She faces charges of felony hit-and-run and driving under the influence, police said.
