1 Critical After Hit-and-Run Collision on Oak Park Road Monday
Magalia, CA (March 15, 2022) – Police arrested 29-year-old Kayla McCally in relation with an injury pedestrian accident that occurred on Oak Park Road on March 14.
The KRCR News reported McCally allegedly intentionally struck an individual on Oak Park Road. Per local news source, evidence suggested McCally got into an altercation with the victim Monday evening. Subsequently, McCally entered the vehicle of the victim and accelerated. The driver struck the victim in the process, then abandoned the vehicle after crashing into a tree. Officials said McCally, of Westwood, fled the scene on foot.
Shortly after 10:21 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the site. First responders found the victim lying on the ground. Paramedics rushed the injured woman to local hospital. According to the article published online, the patient needed emergency surgery to be stabilized.
Authorities reported they found Kayla McCally early next morning at a home off of Billie Road in Paradise. Police arrested the suspect for felony assault with a deadly weapon; inflicting great bodily injury on a victim during the commission of a felony; felony hit-and-run; and felony driving under the influence of alcohol.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
