Kaylin Riolo, 30, Seriously injured in Lebec Crash on Interstate 5
LEBEC, CA (October 11, 2022) – A fatal crash left Kaylin Riolo seriously injured on the Interstate 5 in Lebec.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 30-year-old Emeryville woman as the victim of the wreck which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Kaylin Riolo was a passenger of a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle going north on the Interstate 5 in Lebec.
CHP said for an unknown reason, their motorcycle collided with a Hyundai Freightliner semi-truck. The two crashed south of Lebec Service Road.
Motorcycle and Semi-Truck Collide
The Kern Golden Empire and 23 ABC News wrote that the accident occurred on October 9 at about 4:25 p.m. near Fort Tejon. Kaylin Riolo sustained major injuries as a result of the crash.
Paramedics rushed her to the Kern Medical Center for treatment. Meanwhile, the 32-year-old San Leandro man operating the motorcycle died at the scene of the collision.
CHP added that the the driver of the truck, 55-year-old Joe Riddle, of Hurricane, Utah, ended up unharmed. The cause of the Lebec crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down for hours following the wreck.
