Keani Flores, 28, Passenger in Vehicle that Dragged Officer on West Washington Avenue Monday
El Cajon, CA (December 21, 2020) – Authorities identified Keani Flores as the passenger who participated in an assault that injured an El Cajon police officer.
The Fox5 News reported 28-year-old Flores, of Los Angeles, was sleeping inside a Volkswagen on December 14, Monday. Shortly after 8:30 a.m., emergency teams responded to the 100 block of West Washington Avenue after receiving reports of the Volkswagen blocking the partially blocking the roadway.
When El Cajon police officers arrived at the location, they woke up the driver and the passenger, then requested for identification. Preliminary investigation revealed the driver provided a false name. At some point during the conversation, Pangilinan started the vehicle and put it into gear.

Our sources indicated an officer tried to stop the suspects from leaving. As a result, the officer ended up partially trapped in the SUV and was dragged as the vehicle sped away. The officer reportedly suffered injuries when another car struck the officer hanging from the moving Volkswagen.
During the investigation process, officials found the Volkswagen abandoned near the crash site. The driver and the female passenger both managed to evade.
On Monday, police identified and arrested Flores in Oakhurst in Central California by El Cajon Police Department detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
