2 Injured in Kearny Mesa Crash on Lightwave Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 8, 2023) – A crash left a pedestrian and a driver injured on Lightwave Avenue in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood.
According to an article published by the FOX 5 News, the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the collision on June 7 at around 3:14 p.m.
The incident happened when a white 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross was going east in the eastbound left lane of Lightwave Avenue in Kearny Mesa.
At that same time, a female pedestrian was crossing 9300 Lightwave Avenue outside a marked crosswalk. She then walked in a southerly direction and stopped on the raised center median.
Pedestrian Hit by Car
San Diego police said in the process, the car struck the woman in the roadway. The pedestrian complained of pain to neck and back as a result of the accident.
The driver of the Toyota, a 48-year-old woman, sustained major head trauma due to the impact of the collision. Paramedics rushed both patients to a hospital, where they listed the motorist in critical condition.
The report did not release the names of the wounded parties. Meanwhile, police forced a stretch of Lightwave Avenue to shut down following the incident.
