Keely Stidham, 3 Others Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 198
TULARE COUNTY (September 30, 2019) – One was killed and several others were injured after an alleged DUI crash along Highway 198 Sunday afternoon, September 29.
One of the victims involved has been identified as 56-year-old Tulare resident Keely Stidham. Two other wounded parties were described as a 6-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy.
California Highway Patrol said Stidham, another person and the two children were riding a 2011 GMC Yukon when they were struck by a 2001 Mercedes C200 on Highway 198.
The incident began when the Mercedes was going west while trying to pass a car in front. Its driver then pulled into the eastbound lane at approximately 80 mph and hit the GMC head-on.

According to The Fresno Bee, all four occupants of the Yukon suffered minor injuries upon impact. The operator of the sedan sustained major injuries in the wreck.
The five patients were taken to to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia for treatment. The accident occurred at around 5:20 p.m. near Lake Kaweah, just west of Road 248.
A passenger in the Mercedes, a 61-year-old Visalia woman, died as a result of the collision. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the sedan was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. He was ultimately arrested.
