Fatal Simi Valley Crash First Street and Los Angeles Avenue
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (July 12, 2021) — Keith Sanbonmatsu, 69, of Arroyo Grande, died Friday in a Simi Valley motorcycle accident at First Street and Los Angeles Avenue.
The 69-year-old motorcyclist died from injuries in a collision with an SUV on Friday afternoon in Simi Valley.
The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as the motorcyclist who died in the crash.
The motorcycle rider suffered injuries in the 1:15 p.m. crash and later died the same day at 8:30 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
The motorcycle driven by Keith Sanbonmatsu was northbound on First Street when it collided with the SUV driven by a 17-year-old Simi Valley girl, according to Simi Valley Police Department and Ventura County Fire Department.
Paramedics transported the critically-injured rider to Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. Unfortunately, he later died at the hospital.
The preliminary investigation has found that speed, drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
