Berkeley Accident Investigation
An investigation into a collision involving a fatality can certainly be complicated, especially when a commercial vehicle such as a transit bus is involved. Police will determine what happened based on the facts and witness statements. There may also be video footage from inside the transit bus.
If a negligent driver caused a collision that left you with injuries or the loss of a loved one, you may have grounds for a personal injury claim even if there is some fault on both sides.
It’s important to note, however, that it’s quite common for insurance companies to try and avoid paying out a claim even when they know their insured is at fault. They may also make an offer to settle for far less than the full amount owed. This is unacceptable.
