Kenneth Edward Wassennar II Killed in Fullerton Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident Homeless Man Struck by 3 Motorists in Fatal Hit-and-run Crash

FULLERTON, Calif. (June 27, 2022) – Kenneth Edward Wassennar II, 38, died early Monday morning in a Fullerton hit-and-run crash on Harbor Boulevard and Southgate Avenue.

Two cars and an SUV all struck the victim about 1:30 a.m. at the Fullerton intersection. All three of them fled the scene without stopping to help the pedestrian struck on Harbor Boulevard.

The homeless man was reportedly pushing a shopping cart in the north crosswalk in a westbound direction across Harbor Boulevard. The pedestrian was reportedly walking against a red light at the time of the crash. A southbound driver in a white Dodge Charger had the green light and struck the victim before driving away.

Next, a few seconds later, a driver in a black Jeep Wrangler struck the man a second time and fled the scene, police said.

Meanwhile, roughly two minutes later, a white Honda Civic allegedly struck the man a third time. This driver also left the scene without stopping to help the man, police said.

Finally, paramedics responded and transported Kenneth Edward Wassennar to a trauma center, but he later died at the hospital.

Investigators closed down Harbor Boulevard between Orangethorpe and Knepp avenues to conduct a fatal Fullerton hit-and-run crash investigation.

The first thing you should do is contact an attorney. Without the representation of a lawyer, insurance companies might make contact with you directly, and since they are trained to protect their best interests, this could mean a loss of rights on your behalf, especially if you unknowingly sign something that they didn't completely explain to you. Handling a personal injury claim by yourself is very difficult. You will deal directly with the insurance adjuster who is often trained to obtain the information they are not entitled to use. This information can negatively impact and de-value your case. Once your case is damaged, it is very difficult to repair it and usually costs you thousands of dollars less in a settlement.
