Bicyclist Hit by Pickup Truck on Weekend has Died
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2018) — Kenneth Gordon, 51, of San Jose, died Tuesday, three days after a pickup truck struck him as he rode his bicycle at Second and Santa Clara streets in downtown San Jose.
The bicyclist was struck about 11:05 a.m. on Saturday morning as he rode northbound on Second Street, against traffic on a one-way street. Witnesses told authorities the bicyclist entered the intersection against a red light. The bicyclist then collided with a white 2018 Ford pickup truck that was traveling eastbound on Santa Clara.
The bicyclist was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries on Tuesday afternoon.
Police are heading up an investigation into the cause of this crash and will examine the evidence at the scene, take measurements and speak to those involved as well as witnesses.
