Moreno Valley Man, 44, Struck by SUV in Fatal Crash
PERRIS, CA (Dec. 26, 2024) — Kenneth Woods died in a pedestrian accident Monday night on the Ramona Expressway at North Perris Boulevard in Riverside County.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department stated in a press release the 44-year-old Moreno Valley man died three hours after the 6:38 p.m. crash at the Perris intersection.
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection and located the Moreno Valley man unresponsive in the eastbound lanes of the Expressway.
Paramedics also responded and rushed the man to Riverside University Health Systems Medical Center, but he later died hours later at 9:34 p.m. the same day the report said.
Authorities say a driver in an SUV was eastbound on the Ramona Expressway when it struck the victim who was crossing the street at the intersection with North Perris Boulevard.
Investigators working on the case will determine if the driver had a green light or if the pedestrian had the right-of-way.
The SUV driver stopped and cooperated with the traffic investigation.
Finally, witnesses are asked to call Deputy Christopher Galindo of the Perris Sheriff’s Station at 951-210-1000 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 951-776-1099.
