MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (April 12, 2022) —  Keonia Brown, 40, of Moreno Valley, died Monday night in a solo-vehicle crash on Indian Street in Moreno Valley.

The deadly crash happened about 11:15 p.m. on April 11th, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies from the sheriff’s department’s Moreno Valley Station responded to the scene and located a driver and passenger trapped inside a gray, 2003 Acura MDX on the driveway of a home in the 11900 block of Indian Street.

Keonia Brown was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver in the SUV reportedly hit a both a parked Chevrolet Silverado and a garage at the residence.

One Dead, One Injured in Solo-Vehicle Crash

Police believe the Acura was traveling north on Indian Street prior to the crash. The driver was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle veered across the southbound lane and hit a curb on the west side of the roadway. The SUV went airborne and struck the pickup truck parked in the driveway and also crashed into the garage. The occupants of the Acura were both trapped in the vehicle, but responding firefighters extricated them upon their arrival.

Sadly, Keonia Brown died at the scene and the unidentified driver suffered undisclosed injuries. Paramedics transported the driver to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team.

Authorities temporarily closed down Indian Street, between Ironwood Avenue and Covington Way.
