Bicyclist Killed in Kerman Hit-and-Run at Highway 180 and Shasta Avenue
KERMAN (January 9, 2019) – A bicyclist was killed after an alleged hit-and-run crash in the area of Highway 180 and Shasta Avenue Wednesday morning, according to ABC 30 News.
The accident was reported at around 6 a.m. The highway is also known as West Whitesbridge Avenue.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a man was riding a bicycle when for an unknown reason he was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Highway 180 and Shasta Avenue.
The rider was thrown from his bike into bushes on the side of the road upon impact.

Paramedics responded to the site and found the cyclist left lying in the roadway as a result of the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver did not stop after hitting the bicyclist and took off without rendering aid. The suspect car was only described as maroon colored vehicle.
The incident remains under investigation.
