KERMAN (October 4, 2016)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a deadly auto versus motorcycle collision was reported Tuesday morning at or near the cross streets of Whitesbridge Avenue (Highway 180) and Shasta Avenue.
The incident took place just before 10:00 a.m. when a motorcycle collided with a what was described as a silver Chevy pickup truck.
Upon CHP’s arrival, the motorcyclist was found lying on the ground as the pickup truck caught fire with major front end damage incurred to the vehicle.
Police officials confirmed that the rider sadly suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s name has not been revealed.
The pickup driver appeared to have sustained injuries as well as the report log indicated the motorist was transported to a hospital.
At this time, no details have been released regarding the specific cause of the accident.
