1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Kern County Crash at Highway 43 and Sherwood Avenue
KERN COUNTY, CA (June 5, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and seriously injured another at Highway 43 and Sherwood Avenue in Kern County.
According to the Kern Golden Empire and Bakersfield Now, the tragic accident occurred on Saturday. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 11:15 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Kern County. They crashed at the intersection of Highway 43 and Sherwood Avenue.
Car Collision Near Wasco Saturday
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene, north of Wasco. They confirmed that a woman died as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed a man to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. CHP mentioned that a third person involved sustained minor wounds upon impact.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officials forced the area of Highway 43 and Sherwood Avenue to shut down following the crash.
The cause of the fatal Kern County wreck is still under investigation.
