1 Killed in Kern County Crash on Highway 58 Near Cannon Street
KERN COUNTY, CA (May 27, 2022) – A car crash killed at least one person on Highway 58 near Cannon Street in Kern County.
According to an article published by the 23 ABC News, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 4:30 p.m.
A California Highway Patrol dispatch said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason near the city of Bakersfield in Kern County. They crashed on Highway 58 near Cannon Street.
Fatal Wreck Near Frito Lay
One of the cars involved, a black Ford pickup truck, rolled over due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, near the Frito Lay plant.
Medical personnel then confirmed that one individual died as a result of the incident. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Highway 58 to shut down for a time near Cannon following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Kern County crash is still under investigation.
