1 Killed in Kern County Crash at Highway 33 and Lokern Road
KERN COUNTY, CA (June 26, 2021) – A crash killed at least one person at Highway 33 and Lokern Road in Kern County.
According to the 23 ABC News and Taft Midway Driller, the tragic accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after midnight.
The California Highway Patrol said a semi truck and a sedan collided for an unknown reason in Kern County. The two crashed on Highway 33 at the intersection with Lokern Road.
Car and Semi-Truck Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 33 at Lokern Road to shut down following the wreck.
Officials did not mention if any other party sustained injuries after the collision. The cause of the fatal Kern County crash is still under investigation.
