Semi-Truck, Pickup Crash on 14 Freeway in Kern County
KERN COUNTY, California (April 15, 2021) – A fatal head-on crash happened Thursday morning on the 14 Freeway, just south of Indian Wells in Kern County.
The truck accident happened at 6:44 a.m. on April 15th, according to the California Highway Patrol. The drivers of a white pickup truck and a semi-truck collided at the intersection. The big rig truck jackknifed and both vehicles went off the roadway. Large amounts of debris was scattered in the roadway and traffic came to a standstill, police said.
Paramedics with the Kern County Fire Department responded to the crash scene, but sadly at least one person died in the collision.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances to determine fault for the fatal head-on crash. Additionally, the Bakersfield coroner will identify the victim or victims after notifying family members.
