1 Killed in Kern County Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 46 Near Lost Hills
KERN COUNTY, CA (June 26, 2021) – At least one was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 46 near Lost Hills in Kern County.
According to the 23 ABC News and Taft Midway Driller, the tragic accident occurred early Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 3:30 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said at least two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Kern County. They crashed on Highway 46 between Brown Material Road and Highway 33.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene. They confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that one of the drivers involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
Officers forced both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Highway 46 to shut down following the wreck. The fatal Kern County hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
